Types of Tours:

ELMHS has options for self-guided tours and docent led tours (guided tours).
  • Self-guided tours are always free because you are the guide - but don't worry we have resources available online and in-person to help you out. The biggest advantage to self-guided tours is that you can go at your own pace. 
  • Guided tour rates vary depending on the type of tour and number in your group. A minimum number of 10 people in your group is required to schedule a guided tour. 

Before Scheduling a Guided Tour

  1. Designate one person as the point of contact between your organization and ELMHS. This will also be the person responsible for paying the invoice. 
  2. Decide on several dates and times that work best for your group, just incase your first choice is taken. Please note that the ELMHS museum is closed from October through April. 
  3. Discuss with your group what type of tour they want and what you are hoping to see and do on your tour.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made no later than 14 days before your scheduled tour in order to avoid fees. Any cancellations made after that are subject to the following fees.
  • 7-13 days prior to tour= 50% of total bill
  • 1-6 days prior to tour = 75% of total bill
  • Cancellations on the day of the tour will result in the total balance of the bill.
  • "No shows" will also be responsible for the total balance of the bill.

CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER
ELMHS may choose to cancel a tour for weather related reasons to ensure the safety of your group and our staff. If this happens every effort will be made by staff to contact the group point person and reschedule the tour. Your group will not be responsible for fees related to cancellations due to weather. Note that the ELMHS follows the Minnetonka School District for weather related closings.
