Writers have reflected on Lake Minnetonka for over a century. The gentle lake breezes, the lapping of the waves, and the picturesque landscape are what attracted and inspired them. Join us aboard the historic steamboat "Minnehaha" as we cruise by some of the areas they've described and hear Twin Cities actors share the words of others who experienced the same lake over the years.
NEW THIS YEAR -
We are excited to partner with the Excelsior Streetcar Line of the Minnesota Streetcar Museum in order to offer our ticketholders an authentic "streetcar to streetcar boat" experience - at no additional cost! Passengers may take a quick tour of the ELMHS Museum (old Excelsior Depot) at 305 Water Street and check-in between 6:15 and 6:45 pm to take the trolley to Excelsior Boulevard, approximately a block away from the "Minnehaha" charter dock. Following the cruise the trolley will be waiting to pick up passengers and bring them back to the ELMHS Museum. (The streetcar is not wheelchair accessible.)
For trolley passengers: Use the Excelsior Elementary School lower parking lot (entrance at George and Water Streets next to Wells Fargo bank - see diagram below). Please do not park in the Excelsior Public Library lot.
Not riding the Trolley? No problem. Metered on-street parking and free surface parking lots are available in downtown Excelsior. Maynard's Restaurant parking lots are for use by Maynard's customers while they are dining at Maynard's only and vehicles may not be parked there during cruises. For more information about parking or accessing the "Minnehaha" dock contact the Museum of Lake Minnetonka at firstname.lastname@example.org, 952-474-2115.
